ReplyDeleteWakuu,
ReplyDeleteUbitozi was social cult ya kinamna yake. To be a bitozi one Got to know how to carry yourself; Bitozi was dandy! Bitozi got have a good taste in dressing, music, and dance. Bitozi read novels and watch movies. Bitozi had to master the arts and sciences of flirting. A bitozi was either a brilliant student or worker. Bitozi was a towering figure, you could feel the presence of the Bitozi from how the Bitozi walk, talk and appearance. No bullshitting you are either a Bitozi au Gangwe/Mtemi au Bonge la Mshamba.
Those days kulikuwa na Mabitozi, siku hizi kuna nini?

Wakuu,
ReplyDeleteMabitozi were full of everyting and current with Europe, the US and everywere. Kuna siku nilikuwa Mbowe Hotel Hotel pale chini tunajimwagia lager kwa kwenda mbele na machizi wanzangu wameshuka mtembani.Babake, nipo mimi, Hashim Baharia, Muharami, Wanted, Hashim Sakalaga, Wajina wangu Castro Mmakonde na machizi wengine. Mezani tulikuwa na msitu wa pombe mezani.
Then a Bitozi came in! He was Student, Singer(Barlocks or whatsoever Band and Dj pale Mbowe Hotel).Babake alinirusha stim akishout akisema "..Leo London ni minus 9 centigrade, OOh ni baridi sana"). Wakuu, damned it, nilikuwa sijaanza kusafiri. Bitozi huyu alinirusha stim kinoma. This is to say that Mabitozi walikuwa current and up to date na New York, London, or Paris.
Ye Man! Yes Brotherman! Sail on! Duu kinaaa! Ile mbaya! Hunaa!?? Namna gani? Hiyo ilikuwa misemo ya wakati huo.
J Kitime, you are an amazing dude ! Where do you get these pics? I was one of the early Bitozi's to go abroad in 1973 so I am not in any of these pics but I remember most of the guys. By the way I just hooked up with Freedom Hadebe and Ben Mhina on facebook. Mickey nimekuona kwenye pic and I remember you well,

Hao ndio watakuwa wakombozi.

What a shame. Mwene M.
